I have found your tip to be very helpful.Quite by accident, when not feeling in a very understanding, mood I assigned a leadership role to a student who was being disruptive ,most of the time, and found she was able to focus better in the classroom, and draw her followers into focus with her. This was all luck and gut instinct at the time since I was very inexperienced.

Hi Cheryl,
It is always good when you have someone you can go to for advice and encouragement as you develop as an instructor.

Go kyle i always look for your input and support being a new instructor you have always been there for me
Hi Kyle,
The support you are giving your students is so important. I know they appreciate your concern and know that you want them to succeed. This is what keeps them coming to class and working hard to complete their training.

I found out if we give a compliment to those who are stuggling in the class it makes are job alot easier. Slowly these individuals come out of there shells and get motivated from our daily or weekly positive reinforcement. Soon some of these individuals even become class leaders. I have found in my medical profession that giving leadership positioins in class leaves room for friendly competition and before you know it everyone is on board to grasp one of these positions. I always say give 110% and any constructive criticism only builds character!
