Judging a Book By It's Cover
A lot of comments are made about how young I look. I fear that this may distract students from learning as well as decrease my confidence in teaching due to their reactions. I am a new instructor in the field of nursing; however, I have a plethora of experience in the field. I would appreciate any tips from leaders whom may have experienced this so that I can overcome this hurdle early on in the beginning of my teaching career.
I appreciate the question/concern. I am also a young instructor and I am asking the same question. Thanks for bringing this up!
Hi James,
Well said. This is a good point. A good instructor is a good instructor no matter the age. The key is communicating the message clearly and accurately.

Age is not as important as your ability to convey your expertise to your students. Let them know that you know your business and that you are capable of sharing that knowledge and expertise with them.
