developing a syllabus
HAVING A GOOD SYLLABUS TO INTERACT WITH THE STUDENTS,BY SHOWING THEM WHAT IS EXPECTED FROM THEM THROUGH THE COURSE IS A GOOD ESTABLISHMENT. AND RECOMENDED
At the beginning of the class term I hand out a syllabus with the dates listing when all major assignments and exams are expected to be due or given. The students respond very well. They like the clarity.
Hi Kimberly,
I am sure that they do like having these outlines because they have a list of what is going to occur that day. This gives them a level of comfort for the day and they know what they have to do to be successful in that class.

Every class, I hand out a daily agenda. It is like a mini syllabus. It outlines what we will be doing in class, as well as homework, etc.
I have gotten great feed back about my daily agendas. My students love them!
I agree. When students see a well organized syllabus that outlines what they will do for the class, they know the teacher has a plan. This inspires confidence in the teacher. The students know exactly how their grade is calculated and what they need to do. This is a stress reliever
