First Time Instructor
Function and presenting yourself professional--working on getting a student to come forward in responding to the subject.
Hi Rodrigo,
Good strategy. Thanks for sharing your approach with us. You have found how to make a connection with your students even when you have to do some additional research on a topic.
Gary
One thing very important to me is to really know your subject matter, so being prepared is a very important key to show your students. Also not being afraid to telling them that a certain topic is not your expertise, but you will discuss that in the following class session. This has helped me to overcome my natural initial shyness.
Hi Raul,
Glad to hear that your teaching is going well. Keep up the good work and before you know it the course will be completed and you can reflect on the impact you had on your students. Look for ways you can expand your knowledge base for the next course you teach. I wish you much teaching success.
Gary
I’m in my week 5 of teaching and I started the class giving some examples of the truth life, then we have a debate or group activity. Through this CEE program I capable to improve my method of teaching in the professional matter.
Hi Richard,
Yes, they will. Being a professional that reflects quality from your career area will help to set the stage for your students. With confidence you will be able to get the class off to a good start. I would recommend you find an ice breaker or two that will help the students get introduced to each other and comfortable in the class. While doing the ice breakers you will have an opportunity to get the feel of the class and how your students are going to function in the course.

I am brand new to teaching and I have not been in front of a class yet. I suppose, if I take charge of the things that I am sure about lke professional apperence, attitude and subject matter, the rest will sort of fall in to place.
To me, Everyday seem like It’s the first time with the different that I already know them. On my first day of class which It happened 4 weeks ago I was very nervous and no knowing what to say. So I asked the students what to expect from this class, and what they do for living. It worked good, we brook the ice and I was able to let them know where I come from, my knowledge about the subject and the mission of the class without telling them, they are my first class ever. =)
Hi Wendy,
Welcome to teaching. I wish you much success in your career. Your approach is a good one. There is no reason to be cold with your demeanor. Being professional and human make a great combination for your students. This way they will know they can come to you for support if needed.

Hi Chimene,
Thank you for sharing with us how you have been able to develop as an educator. You have had some wonderful students because they have contributed to your growth and expertise as a teacher.
Gary
I agree, I am a first time instructor and one of my goals at becoming an instructor was to let students know, everyone has to start somewhere, mistakes are okay, you learn from them.
When I was in school, my instructors were very stone cold with there presence while observing, you were so afraid of making a mistake you could not think clearly while performing.
Hi Heather,
Great to hear. This to me means you have many of the characteristics of an educator already contained in your personality so you can concentrate on your professional development in targeted areas where you want to expand your expertise.
Gary
I do believe that as a professional it is also good that students see you as once being in there own shoes.
I was amazed while doing this module how many concepts I've applied without even realizing it! I hope to prove professionalism through my dress, actions, and teaching style.
