Teaching Style
As an educator, I believe that teaching style is very important to overall student progress, material retention, and success. I teach for a career college which has students from several different types of socio-economic backgrounds; therefore, I have developed many different styles of teaching. I, actually, have to incorporate many of these styles into each class, and that certainly was a major challenge for me. In addition to lecturing, I have incorporated PowerPoint presentations in some classes, various handouts, charts, etc. Using multiple styles in my classrooms has paid off in regards to my students' learning process.
Hi Courtney,
Great to hear from a new instructor. You have already put together a winning combination for effective teaching. All of the components you listed contribute to enhanced learning and greater student satisfaction.

I am a fairly new instructor but have already realized that combining my knowledge in the field with my personality, along with a little bit of humor, goes a long way in retaining the attention of my students.
Hi Michael,
These types of activities really get the students excited about what they are learning in class. I use these external activities a lot and when we return to class the motivation levels are extremely high. The students see it, experience it, and want it. The "it" they want is that career they are preparing for. You and your students are going to have great experiences.

Hi Michael,
Not sure of your question. What type of feedback are you seeking? If you can share a little more background I will be glad to give some input.
Thanks.
Gary
I, as an educator, structure my classs in a way that my students can successfully learn and retain the information. I am planning on taking my medical classes on extern sites next week at University of Louisville Hospital, so they can experience real-life workforce situations that will affect them in their careers. I can't wait to take my students on field trips, extern sites, and managerial sites, that will encourage them into wanting to go further with their careers and education.
Can any of you guys give me some feedback?
