Creating good atmosphere
I find that making students comfortable in the classroom, create a good learning atmosphere. Getting the students to be comfortable enough to open-up and communicate with you is often revealing of their understanding of the material being taught.

I love having the opportunity to provide a safe, fun and motivating learning environment for our students. They have such hectic lives with families, work and other things, so when they come to college to learn and better themselves it is nice to provide an environment that they want to be in. Students love walking into a classroom where the instructor is waiting with a smile and a welcome. Thank you Melissa for pointing out the importance of creating a good atmosphere.

Yes, it is amazing to see the growth of students throughout a course when they feel supported and comfortable. Good point.

I couldn't agree more. Its amazing to see students from the first day, that you could just tell were shy and felt like they wouldn't have a voice in the class, grow during the term and by the end be interacting with the whole class. The comfort of the classroom is so important to that process.
