Times Available to Students?
What are good times to be available for students? Should we be available 24/7?
I am available 24/7 to my students.All have my phone number and they call me at any time. I think is the best way yo comunicate about problems on the field.

This type of access can be very important to the success of students, especially those that are on the verge of dropping out and may need a kind word or some form of instructional support.

I am 24/7 for my students, because, their need me at any moment. The technology from today, need all the time for practice and learn.

I support your position on this as it helps students to realize that their are boundaries and limitations to accessing certain professionals. They will realize this themselves once they are out in the work world.

With technology today though, it's safe to say that most people are available at all points during the day (email on cell phones, etc.) However, I personally tend to stick to the business hours as to when I would respond to a student.

I believe there needs to be certain times when an instructor is available to students. The reason is that if we are available 24/7 they do not value our time or our input. By having set times for availability then the students develop self discipline to call, drop in or email during those times. There are exceptions to this when students are completing a major project and need additional access then it can be provided.
