Attitude
Attitude every day plays a roll in yourself, it has to start with the front of the room. This is very important for setting the tone of the day and needs to be lived daily,( per moment ). Attitude is the axis, longitudinal support on which our, stem and root, center. Posture of our minds is seen not heard. How to we build the right attitude?
Vanessa,
Good message to send yourself each time you prepare to step into the classroom or lab. Your students will appreciate your positive attitude toward them and teaching.

You build it by talking to yourself every morning and remembering that you are here to inform others about the subject matter and help them. you also build it by pushing out any negativity early on in the day
Alixe,
Well said in terms of how you are perceived by your students. Thank you for the sentence in relation to finding a balance between just telling a story and telling a story that shows relevancy and application to students. This is something we instructors need to be aware of whenever we share our experiences from the field both the ones with good results and the ones that don't have the best results.

There's a thin line between being too anecdotal and providing a contextually assuring story. Like it says so many times in this course, all instructors are human too. If there weren't fail points along the line of successes, the students may not believe you - or be misled to think they won't ever fail. Although it's an annoyingly trite statement, "Experience is what you get when you don't get what you wanted" can be entirely true- I believe that my drive for my field is a direct outcome of that. If I show that to my students, I appear real because I am, and not because I'm just playing a role.
David,
You build it by bringing passion for your field to the classroom and lab. Combine that with enthusiasm for teaching about the subject and you have a made a major step toward developing a positive attitude to and for your students. Add in some application examples and relevancy points and you will have them excited about being in the class and making progress toward their career goals.
