I typically develop a plan after considering areas of personal interest and feedback from peers, managers, clients, and students. Next I find resources that will satisfy the need, such as seminars/webinars, courses, mentors, books, trade journals, etc. Then it's practice, practice, practice and start the cycle again.
I can expand my instructions abilities by observing other instructors in action and by continued professional developmentment such as from the CEE.

Practicing what you already know and keeping current in your field by taking advantage of continuing education opportunities attending inservices that are offered at work and online courses.
Ways to expand instructional abilities will include taking exta courses, such as this one, to expand my knowledge. Other courses such as effective communication and how to deal with difficult students will help expand my knowledge.
I like to keep up with my Continuing Medical Education courses. This helps keep me up to date with anything new in my field and in turn I can pass this information on to my students.

I go through almost every one of instructor evaluation forms & compare it to my personal professional development plan trying to come up with a better/more practical way of teaching the same course.
Review and rehearse lesson plan prior to class.
Prepare short power point presentations when needed for clarification.
Ask peers to attend class for short review of teaching methodologies.
I feel that there are many ways that an instructor can expand their abilities. One would be to stay current on the technologies, laws, tools, that one could use in the field of your study. Another would be to watch a collegue that you hear students find as an interesting or good professor. This may show you new and inventive techniques for keeping student attention and the excitement level up in the class. Last being well prepared will keep your enthusiasm level up and you will find that when you are better prepared you can introduce more material into the class to help reinforce your teachings.
I am happy that I am able to still receive and learn instructional abilities to expanding my skills. I learn everyday to be a good instructor for my students.
Staying current with new technology as applied to our industry. Develop strategies to get this information to the student, explaining the importance of understanding as well as how this information will enhance their careers.
I currently work in the Medical field as my full-time Job. I attend alot of Conferences throughtout the year. I am also a member of quite a few organizations and through these organizations I network with other people in the field and with that learning experience I take it to the Classroom.

In order to expand my instructional abilities I will like to take more training courses like this. I like to stay abreast on the new practices/methods that are being used in successful classrooms.
One way I have found is to get the students involved with the discussion.
Listening and observing those with more experience. This could be beneficial for both expanding and avoiding troublesome expansion.
A way to expand my instructional ablilities would be to practice my instructional style and see where there may be trouble spots
defenitely enjoy learning other teaching styles.
I think talking to other instructors and getting ideas from them is a good place to start. After that I would probably do some research on my own.
