I always use humor in the classroom. Let's face it. Some content is dry as the day is long. Having a joke or sharing a funny topic related experience usually helps to pick up the pace of the class.
Humor helps break the monotony of the lecture. It definitely helped me in reinstating the interest of the students specially when the topic gets to be more in depth and difficult to remember.

Humor can be used to reinforce learning concepts. There are different delivery models available and you can use them to vary your presentations and support your teaching with humorous illustrations related to your field. Sharing a laugh with each other is a great way to reset the thought process and get students engaged.
