Communication
Make eye contact. Eye contact emphasizes sincerity and without sincerity your point will not be received
I find to banter with the student a little puts them at ease . and makes them more open to join in and learn. keep it on topic. and make positives out students inputs. debate things and guide the debate
I agree with the definitions of "good" communication above, and I would stress listening to/watching exactly what the students are asking and anticipating their questions as a big part of communication as well.
GOOD COMMUNICATION IS VERY ESSENTIAL FOR THE OVERALL SUCCESS OF THE COURSE.
I have found the key to communication is in my classes is to be concise.I have seen other teaching styles that use more words than necessary and bigger words then necessary and sometimes causes miscommunication with students.
Communication with authority, tone of voice, in a matter-of-fact etc, etc... will all help. But the messege must come from the heart (sincerity as you stated above) with the concern for the interest of the learner.
Hi Rick,
What constitutes "good communication". It's so different with each person. What we think as teachers may be very different from others in our class. I find the them "good" ambiguous.
Want to hear from you on this!
