Classroom set-up

I am directly responsible for setting up the classrooms under my range of influence. To properly prepare a class room, you must lay out tool boxes neatly within a designated work area. I must prepare a system for keeping expendable items stocked, and make sure appropriate training aids are in place. Lastly the classroom must be laid out comfortably as well as aesthetcally pleasing

presantation presantation clean organized room is a saferoom.

I strongly agree. A clean and organized classroom not only reflects the institution, but the instructor as well. First impressions are very important. You only get one, make it count.

I agree having training aids in good working order is essential, however, when you have 100 plus it gets difficult. I've found the students do enjoy fixing some of the T/A's. They get to perform 'real world' tasks and it helps their confidence greatly.

Setting up the classroom is a must and so is setting up the lab so that the sutdentcan find their way around it.

We should also check and repair all traning aids at the start of each course.

To me, the initial setup of the room is essential. I also teach at a technical school, and I find that the best way to motivate success is to make the students feel like they are techs. Presenting a well organized shop atmosphere on day one of class goes a long way toward doing that.
