Learning to plann and prepare

One of my weak points is planning; the last time I planned an activity was 20 years ago, any ideas or suggestions on how to start? I really appreciate your help.

Hi Jacky,
Good point and good approach. This helps to keep all of the students engaged in the class activities.

I have a similar philosophy,Ialso keep a good sense of humor all related to work.In my class,it is mostly hands on that count. So for that matter,I tell my students that they have to be prepared mentally and physically as well.It works most of the time.

Set attainable goals and even use gimics like your sense of humor to keep students awake enough to
see that each step gets them close to the goal.

Research your topic to find any new developments, keeping current with what you teach is key, then develop an activity that will involve hands on (if it applies to your subject matter). I like to use crossword puzzles, group assignments and activities that will spark group discussions. This is a good way to see how well your students are understanding the subject matter.

I find that now more than ever I have to plan and stay current due to the internet. Students surf the internet and test your knowledge with the content they find. The standarized curriculum is the base but I add information from scholarly sources and websites.
