Leaning Environment
Setting the learing environment is crucial to the general direction of the class. Establishing the atmosphere will grant you the over all control of the class, not only on the first day but for the rest of the class term. This includes rules, the student/teacher relationship, and the overall effectiveness of the learning environment.
The atmosphere plays a big part in our classroom. Visual effects as well as video access and the option of after hours ability to study alone makes a big difference. My students have the opportunity to use the classroom in the evenings with their own free will. They tend to study together and help each other out without the presence of an instructor but still have the presence of the needed study tools at their disposal.
I agree. A learning environment that supports the content and purpose of the class contributes to retention and mastery of the information.
The classroom is very important. I favor certain rooms for different classes based on past experience.
