Planning and Prepartion
The largest complaint I have received as a DOE is that the teacher are not organized. With proper planning and prepartion, this would nearly eliminate all complaints.
Hi Gary,
Thank you so much for your feedback.
Hi Asmeret,
Right you are with the three P's. This is what being a good educator is about.
Gary
I fully agree with the issue of planning and preparation and Gary’s question, how else can you teach without being well prepared with planning. First, as respect to students who deserve it and secondly for myself to get the satisfaction of a job well done, and act as a role model to students, who in turn are expected to do the same for their success. Students know when the instructor is not well prepared and can lose confidence and feel that their time is being wasted. Of course, they will complain. The need for planning, organization and preparation cannot be overemphasized.
My favorite 3P’s: Preparation! Preparation! Preparation!
Hi Kimberly,
Simple and to the point. Thanks for sharing the big FIVE with us. Will other other instructors with their instructional development.
Gary
I always use the 5 P's motto:
Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance.
Poor planning and prepration can also lead to terrible classroom management. You have to plan in advance for what might or could go wrong. You have to plan for unplanned events/surprises.
Hi Mark,
Right you are plus the teacher will have much greater success in teaching by being prepared and organized. I don't know how they do it. It is so stressful to be running copies off 2 minutes before class starts and then rushing into the classroom.
