Learning Objectives
Can a learning objective be too broad?
Wania,
Good points about how to develop objectives for classes. You are right on about the need for them to be clear and concise so the students know what the expectations are.

A learning objective can be too broad. It needs to be limited to the information the student will be learning sat hand. It should not give a full "ten" month objective. Depending on the student that can be very overwhelming. The instructor should make the objective clear and staright to the point for the student so they may have a clear understanding of the the subject at hand is going to be for the course.
They are important, even if they seem boring. Spice them up a bit :)
Jose,
Yes, they can. They need to be concise and clear so they are easily understood by the students. That way they will know exactly what is going to be covered in the course.
