Planning and preparation:
I am an instructor who always try to plan ahead and be proactive with my classes. It works a time and some times it seems as if I am falling behind. It never dawn on me to make a check list before, because I was always using my syllabus as the guide. the syllabus is always good but with a checks list of your own will make planning and preparatiion a lot better.

Thank you for these comments. They should serve as a warning for all instructors. Trying to slip into class without preparation sets an instructor up for the problems you listed. It isn't worth the stress to operate like that.

How do we expect our students to learn planning and preparation for the "real world" if we ourselves are not prepared to teach them and plan our objectives and outlines for them. I have seen instructors fall apart and students eat instructors alive because they are not prepared. Believe it or not, not all students come in totally oblivious to what is about to be taught to them.
