importance of Lesson Plan
I can't make it without the lesson plan!
Eddie,
Thank you for sharing your classroom experiences in relation to the need for lesson planning. No matter how long we have taught they still need to be a part of our planning effort. The results will more than repay the effort.

As a new instructor in the Medical Assisting field, I thought my 13 years of varied and great experience would be enough for me to walk into a room and share my knowledge like seeds of competency. I have found that without a lesson plan, my seeds lie on the ground unwatered and scattered. Lesson plans are ESSENTIAL and definitely allow me to organize my knowledge into useful information for the students!
Sheri,
Right you are. When an instructor isn't prepared it makes for a very long class for everyone involved. No one benefits from this.

I understand completely. This is the roadmap of GPS to the finalo destination
If I have not planned my lesson I do students a disservice. We should all be clear on where we are heading and how we will get there.
It keeps me focus and having a clear direction as to where I want to go with my students.
I am completely lost without lesson plans. Obviously, questions and topics brought up in class can derail you from your plans but it helps to have them to get back on track and pick up where you have left off.
Lesson Plans help he organize my topics, lectures, and materials and help me figure out what I am doing each day.
I also have to have a lesson plan. It keeps me focused and add materials as I need to keep up with the ever changing medical field.
