Learning styles
Getting to know the students early on will help them feel at ease and allow the instructor to understand their individual learning styles.

That is a great strategy to remember how your students learn. Depending on how many students you have you would certainly have a huge amount of information to remember. I find all these tips from the forum very helpful, thanks!
I believe it is also extremely important for the student to realize their own learning styles as well. I remember when I was a student, I recognized what kind of learner I was which helped me to do my school work on my own time and really take the information in.
I believe this is a great idea and an excellent idea which helps the instructor to learn more about how the students learn, while at the same time the students have a beter understanding of how they can learn best. I have thought about doing the same thing as you but have never done it. But now I am certain that I will use the learning style inventory more often.
Knowing your students learning style can increase feedback and retention of what your students are learning. I always keep small notes of each student and how they learn so when I am planning future lectures I can utilize this so they get as much as they can from lectures and labs.
I always have my students take a learning style inventory. I tell that it changes over time as you grow and develop as a person. After I know how they learn best, I will say during my lessons "for you audio people, try this to study"
I agree. Getting to know your students increases learning and makes learning fun. Students need to know you care about how they learn and what interests them.
