material

is it ok to bring in material from other sources than what is provided by the school?

Bryan,
Two good points. I support your second point a lot because as you say students like to see your work. Providing them with handouts and support materials you have developed show the students that you have both the knowledge and experience to lead them forward in their career development.

Also be sure to check for copyrighted material. There are certain texts/videos/presentations that are restricted in their use. Look to see who created it and if you must you can contact the publisher. Another great option is to create your own material! Your own work can be very rewarding for your students and you.

Yes, It is very important to provide your students with materials from of sites. This gives them a look at other fields, individuals. Who are looking that the course of study from another view point.

I would say that it would be ok as long as it stays within the outline

Mark,
Generally it is fine but you need to clear it with your school. Each campus has different polices about supplemental materials and how they can be used in classes.
