Ensuring Course Materials are there for Students

As an instructor in a highly technologically dependent field, what is the best way to ensure my students will have the resources they will need and be able to stay compliant with the technological terms and conditions placed by my university?

If I have technology that I need, but can't get because of budgetary reasons, how am I supposed to teach that content?

Jennifer,
I am a big fan of field trips and guest speakers because they help my students to get a more accurate picture of why they are being taught what they are plus they get to interact with individuals that are already in their field. The interaction helps the students to see the reality of their career choice.

I would also try to schedule field trips of possible so the students can at least see the technology you are covering. The internet can also be helpful as far as videos or the manufacturers website can offer more help.

Robert,
I would talk with my administration about this because under accreditation guidelines such as ACICS the program cannot be offered if it does not have adequate and current field technology to support the training. The school can be in a tough situation if they do not provide what you need for this program.
