Firts Meeting and Impression

As several have said and I say it in class "First impression is a lasting impression". You do not know how you meet in the halls or any where but when you walk into a class or on a job forr the first time them you relize who they are. I make sure I am friendly and polite but I am making sure the standards are set. I do set a standard and show how we should act. I do state my successes in life and share the good and some of the bad as I state to all "I am not perfect and no one is, but with knowing this I can improve".

I like what you say about not being perfect. I often tell students that we are all human and WILL make mistakes, both in class and on the job. Hopefully I can also teach them how to handle it when you make mistakes. Sometimes I tell them about mistakes I have made, so hopefully they will NOT make that particular mistake themselves. Doing so puts me in more of a human category with the students rather than some kind of god, someone who never made a mistake in their whole life.
By the way, Eric, YOU made a mistake. You misspelled the word "first".
Five points off final professionalism!

I think setting the guide lines the firest day
is the best way to start
