Clarification

You need to be direct and print everything out for the student so that they have a reference. I find that you need to be very direct about what you are wanting them to get out of the class and expectations.

I completely agree Lisa; I've had moments of uncertain clarity in the past. I usually try to get the class to paraphrase what I'm asking just to make certain that the assignments get out and returned with out any misunderstandings also.
Much easier said than done.

Exactly. Expectations and requirements have to be spelled out to insure that there are no misunderstandings about what is going to occur in the coming weeks.
