Questioning Introductory Steps
I'm wondering how important the order of the "steps" of first-day considerations are. I always cover all of the points you've listed in a natural flow, but not necessarily in the sequence you specify. I'm thinking that the order must be somehow vital, since we were tested on it. Any insight for me?
Hi Tim,
Great to hear. Teaching is using common sense in sharing content with students. You are using your life experiences and common sense to be on target with your students.

I found that the "steps' listed in this module actually validated what I do naturally. In a way I feel better knowing that my classroom instincts are spot-on. Especially considering the lack of training I had in the beginning of my teaching career!
Hi Rhonda,
The order listed in not set in concrete but based upon experience and research the retention of information is higher when presented in this sequence. The key point it can vary some due to the students that are enrolled. Some students are not impacted by the introduction sequence and others we have found like the sequence order that is presented. Some students are more concrete sequential learners and others are more abstract. The concrete sequential learners want the step by step flow of information. Abstract learners can grab bits and pieces of the information as it comes and order is that important. Good judgment is the key for how you introduce the information.
