How to overcome anxity

Both are ancious teacher and students

I love to smile; that is one of by best qualities. Smiling will get you a long way. It eases the mind of the student and helps them to become comfortable approaching you.

Hi Alnita,
Good point. This really helps to get students settled into the course and feeling confident about what is going to occur in the coming weeks.

First you must set the ground rules that one is approachable. Once a student feels that you are receptive tho their needs and concerns, alot of their fears and anxities will deminish.

Students tend to be anxious about whether they can pass the course with a reasonable amount of effort. Being clear about requirements, expectations and grading from day 1 should help alleviate these concerns. As an instructor, it might be helpful to first analyze what you're anxious about. Are you concerned about being able to answer questions? About your organization? Are you uncomfortable with public speaking? Defining your own anxieties is a first step in creating a solution that works for you.

It's important to set the students at ease. When they know the teacher and your expectations up front they are better prepared for success.
