Creating the Syllabus is something each instructor should do. By creating the syllabus, it give you the ability to understand what is in it, how to instruct by it, etc... The students appreciate how much we understand it.

Yes it does and as a result there is reduced anxiety and questions from the students. They can review the syllabus and start to focus on what they need to do to be successful in the class.
