Availabilty to tutoring students

I feel in some of the subject I deliver, there are a few students that are not grasping the material in the alloted time frame.

I make myself available to students for tutoring as well, but I suggest that tutoring is also seeked from other sources or other instructors, It never hurts to hear it a different way, from a different angle, using a different anology.

I also make myself available to my students. Some just don't get it in class and I am willing to help in any way possible.

i have that problem to. after class turtoring with my students, one on one, i find that i am able to fill in all the blanks and get the a head start on the next days projects.

I make myself available before class and after class for the students that want extra tutoring, the ones that are struggeling and do not want my help, I always suggest a peer tutor. Sometimes it is easier for a student to hear from a student tutor and not an instructor. Also, if I am on a subject I try to have examples, pass arounds, and pictures describing or showing the subject and what is right or wrong. This keeps some of the star gazers focused and sometimes will generate good questions on the subject.

Hi Christina,
I am sure that this approach is very helpful to the students that are in need. This personal touch
shows that you care about their success and that is a real motivator for many students. Keep up the good work.

I feel the same and when I see those students who just aren't grasping the material I pull them aside and see if there is anything I can do for them to make it more understandable to them

These are students that should be taken to the side and highly encouraged to seek other forms of instruction (tutoring, workshops, online resources, etc)

Many courses have to much content for time allowed. I think this is a product of todays fast paced society. Everybody wants every thing right now.
