1 on 1 training with students
I found that if I offer to sit with a student after class and help them to see how to solve for a mathematical/ medication problem when they finally understand how to solve the problem it's wonderful to see the light bulb go on in these students and their level of respect goes up
Hi Carolyn,
Isn't this just the greatest feeling when that "Ah-Ha" moment occurs and you see they see they get it as well as them seeing they got it. It is what keeps you coming back to the classroom day after day.

I agree that one on one teaching/training helps the student understand the material. I love it when you see that a student understands something. That is the main reason why I became an instructor.
I believe each student has their own way of learning. Some may fall behind-but if you offer them one on one help-it will make a world of difference. not only for the students to understand the information, but it also shows the student that you care. The fact that you are taking time out of your day-for that one student, will mean more to them than we can imagine!
Sometimes just a few minutes of one on one face time with a student makes a world of a difference for student. First of all it demonstrates that you are truly invested and care about their success by making the time, secondly it allows a student who might be holding back during class to receive some reassurance and perhaps that added boost to come alive around their peers. It is sometimes difficult to do this with large classes but when I can make those one on one connections with students I try to make the most of it.
Hi Stacy,
What a great opportunity for your students. To receive one-on-one tutoring means they have the attention and support of their instructor. What a great way to develop rapport as well. Keep up the good work.
Gary
I tutor students one -on -one in addition to teaching, and the one- on- one is fabulous. The student feels less intimitaded, more secure, and more motivated to return to class. Sometimes it only takes that little bit of time and the student succeeds because he/she now feels more comfortable about the material.
