Power point presentation

Power point presentation has become the main tool for content delivery. It is a powerful tool for content delivery. However I try to encourage my students to take notes during my lectures and read the required textbooks to supplement their learning.

William,
This is a great way to create a cognitive connection for students. Through tactile interaction they start to build an association with the course content and it builds from there.

Passinig around physical examples of the content being presented will help the tactile learners learn the powerpoint presentations.

I use power points, but I use the handouts with lines for notes during a lecture and grade the students on the notes they put on them.

Its a shame we have to teach notetaking skills, listening skills, writing skills, along with our course content. I even have to teach math skills in my accounting classes.

When you already short time to deliever the course material, all the additional skills students need can make it overwelming.

You cant go away too far from the traditional pen and paper. I know the students especially the young ones are foreign to that but the benfits are too great to ignore that
