PowerPoints and Hands-on

The one thing I have done for my students is place stars on my PowerPoints, this lets them know what to study for the tests. They really seem to like this and it has worked for the past 3 sessions. I break my class into two parts. 1) Lecture and discussion and 2) hands-on techniques. This way I address all forms of learning.

Great idea! I would be lost without PP and need to add more hands-on to my lectures.

I almost always use powerpoints. However, I use them as a means for the learners to follow...much like a guide. They are very brief and to the point, but it gives the learner an outline of the material. Obviously, it cannot be used alone...lectures, reading, etc will need to supplement that material.

The use of powerpoints are great But remember, they are only aides not the lecture or demonstrations.

Karen- would you recommend using this along with study guides or do you find this eliminates that need?

Hi Karen,
Good strategy. Thanks for sharing this idea with us.
