Delivering course content
It is best to know what the course is about. I believe that it helps to give the students an overview of the course by reviewing the syllabus.
Gerry, most definitely it is the case that knowing the course is important and should be a given. However, I am sure we both can attest to situations when that is not always the case. For an instructor to know the course from all angles; to include practical and professional experiences, is a great benefit to students. Direct experience as would be higlighted is a plus for students in learning and instruction.
