Rosemarie,
Good way to offer different learning opportunities for the students. This way their different learning preferences will be appealed to.
Gary

Not all students learn the same. Some are visual, some are auditory, and some are tactil learners. It is important that information in given in a manner so that all students get the most from each class meeting. often times instructor teach the way they learn and this is not fair to the students. Practice make perfect and variation is key. Not only does the challenge the instructor to come up with different formats of any particular lesson it also challenges students to learn no matter how the material is delivered. It also prevents the class from becoming boring.

It is important to include a variety of teaching styles to meet the needs of your students, who will have the full range of learning style preferences. HOWEVER, when planning learning styles it is also important to consided the content of the material and the resources available to your and your students. (Don't plan a computer based lesson if your students don't have access to a computer).

By offering a variety of instructorial mathods for the subjects achieves:
1. Camplete class partecipation
2. Student active participation
3. Affects different learning areas

Varying delivery methods and focusing on different learning styles you are attempting to meet all learning needs. You are addressing all students and giving them an opportunity to comprehend and apply what they have learned. They may have different learning styles for different tasks. It's good to make them aware of different learning styles so they can determine how best they learn. It could be by the written word, auditory, visualization or tactile. In any case, you are helping them succeed by varying the methods and focusing on different learning styles.

Kristina,
Right you are about the need for a variety of instructional offerings. The change of pace and different mediums help the students to stay engaged and use their preferred learning preferences.
Gary

Donna,
This variety of learning opportunities is very important to the total learning package for your students. This way they get to learn, apply and retain information in different ways.
Gary

It is important because not all students learn the same way. If you vary your delivery method during class you have a higher opportunity to impact more students. This is also a way to keep your class interesting, if you always deliver information the same way the students will become bored with it and lose intrest. By offering a variety of instructional methods you keep things exciting and students engaged.

By offering several learning opportunities for students you are not only addressing the students different learning styles but also allowing students to encounter the information several different times and in different ways. Each time they hear or see the material it allows them another chance to achieve a deeper understanding of the subject matter and also "handle" the material in several different ways.

By implementing varied ways of instructional deliveries helps me as an instructor find ways to keep the students engaged. by understanding that every learns in a differently, I will try to ensure every student learns in their way. it can make the lecture interesting, fun?

I think one of the most important things any educator can do, is offer a varied delivery. Attack all the students senses, almost like a performing art. It helps reach the different learners, and helps keep the students and class engaged. It's really a win win situation for teacher and student.

The varied styles of teaching methods may hold the attention of adult learners a little longer on the current subject matter. Hopefully, each method used, will appeal to certain learners in the class helping to faciltate inteactivity among all of the students.

It is important to use a variety of instructional methods to accommodate differences in students' learning styles. Also, if attention spans are only 15-18 minutes long, changing up instructional methods helps to break the monotony.

A variety of instructional delivery methods is key, especially in a teaching environment such as mine because my students vary in age from 18ish all the way up to 40+.

For that reason all the students will not learn the same way nor will they all get the same information from an instructor. By including a variety of delivery methods throughout the class time and the whole term, there is a much better success rate in regards to the students learning and understanding the material to their best ability.

Continually changing up the way material is delivered through the class will only help the students and encourage them to want to learn even more.

Terry,
Good point and something we need to keep in mind as we approach our instructional delivery planning. We need to be aware of different learning preferences and then offer options within the different preferences.
Gary

It is importatnt to offer a variety of instructional delivery methods in class to keep the students interested and engaged in the teaching material. All students learn in different fashions, and the information will be reinforced if it presented in more than one method. Teaching needs to be an interactive process to provide the best learning experience possible.

It's important to tailor your class to the variety of people in it... You want to keep everyone's attention, the young and the old...er... You have to realize that not everyone is going to have the same comprehension, of the same material. By giving a variety of the same information, it will reach all of the students.

By knowing what works best for your students by asking them for their opinion helps you prepare to instruct them the best way and help them learn the the easiest way for them.

all students learn differently and a good instructor should be able to see this and adapt himself to the situation and appeal to all learning styles

When I deliver lectures, I find that it is easy to over do it. You have to stay conscious of time, and make sure you break every few minutes (15-18 minutes works). It also works to pause, and ask questions every so often in order to establish whether or not the subject is being learned. When in lab, I find it useful to move from team to team to assess any problem areas, and if they need a quick follow-up instruction. However, most of the time in lab, students will come to me so that they can quickly get up to speed. The first lab day seems to be the most intense, until I get the feel for the overall reception of the task instructions.
