I believe offering students a variety of instructional delivery methods helps to make the learning experience more effective. If the instructor takes into account the various learning styles of the students, he/she can implement strategies that will enhance the presentation of the material being covered.
Its important to mix things up because your class is not homogeneous! Students come to class with different knowledge bases, different learning styles, and levels of motivation. One type of teaching method will not cut it, I would be teaching to only a portion of the class, while many would get little from the class.
