I think having a variety of different teaching tools is important for all learning styles to benifit. Some students may need hands on time , whike others are visual learners. It is important to develope those tools over time.

My first class on income taxes was done mostly with power point and lecture. Upon surveying the class I found that they felt the lecture was not as important and they wanted more examples of how the tax law worked. I began to orient my teaching by using more examples.
yes, reaching students different learning styles can be difficult. After I taught the same class for a couple of times and didn't have to prepare as much I used that time to come up with different activities to try and reach each differnt learning syle
