Delivering the lecture

You prepare to deliver a particular lecture using different supports for which you have to use the internet, and then you get to the class and the internet goes down. How somebody suppose to handle this situation?

Wayne,
Can list for us some examples of how you do this in your courses?

I try to bring other thing for the students to do vido practice or discussion of another subject

Calvin,
Thank you for sharing this back up strategy. These things happen and we instructors have to be able to adapt to the situation and make the best of it.

I teach both computer and computer based courses. Just last night I was teaching a class that is located "in the cloud", When the internet went down there was nothing the students could do, the programs are not located on our computers. I had to do an early release. In cases where the computer is just for support, I print out my powerpoints and cownload my videos just in case.

Jean,
I always bring with me case studies and small group activities I can put the students into when something unexpected like the internet goes down. By doing so my class is not derailed and my students get the benefit of that days topic.
