Learning Styles
Students learning styles are defined in Jumpstart. If each Instructor knew his students learning style, the curriculm could be tailored more toward the way each class learns. Are the Instructors aloud to access this information???
Having students take an assessment test to define their learning style may be a good idea. The student can use that information to exploit their strengths and improve their weaknesses. But unless we have our students wear signs to identify their learning style, we, as instructors, must incorporate strategies that are effective for all learning styles.
How about having your students take the online learning style assessment? Maybe have them tell you before they take the assessment what style they think they have. It will be interesting to see the correlation between their own feeling vs. the result of the assessment.
How are instructors suppose to know what learning style students we have unless the students have gone through somekind of program depicting what type of learning style they have. So I agree w/Mr. Humphrey.
