Learning in the online world
In the online environment it can be challenging to deliver in all four modalities. It is critical that those that kinesthetic and auditory learners are still able to utilize the online world. Through a well rounded variety of assignments this can be done.
I do agree that instructors would gravitate towards the method that we are most comfortable receiving new information in. By switching this up for our students, we also benefit as instructors.

As an online IT instructor, I have had students install software at home then report on their actions to combine kinesthetic learning to software applications.

Our program requires both web based and classroom/lab involvement. I try to draw on the content of the web based material as we physically perform tasks in our shop.Then touch on it again while reviewing our lab material. This shows a hands on learner the benefits of the online material.

Hi Matthew- I agree that the online environment can be tough for those students. It's good that you have an opportunity to do some hand-on work with examples. We have actually been doing more hybrid classes (online but with set hours in-class also with an insturctor)Best wishes - Susan
I believe that online learning is a real challenge for the hands on learner if there is not something to go with it. Our school is gravitating towards the online environment. I plan to have examples for the class to view and get their hands on to help these students out.
