Learning style changes

I also believe that learning styles adapt depending on the material that you are trying to learn. I learned math better by working a lot of problems, I learned German better through a lot of auditory work (immersion in the language), I learned how to fix lawn mowers by hands on work.

I think that at times some students get too caught up in "their learning style" and can use it as a crutch when they struggle instead of trying a new way, and see what can come from it.

I find that there are those of my students who will learn no matter which method is used to present the information. There are also those students that unless I give them the scenario and let them do it will struggle to grasp the concept. I simply try to include as many different strategies as possible and as the term goes on I am able to reduce the time dedicated to the less productive methods.

I agree I think a lot of my students are visual and auditory learners. And I try to run my class that why I think students understand better.
