Should there be more instructors teaching different fields in another language?
I think that students need to learn subjects in English and that bilingual lessons should be used to teach English only. What would happen to students who learned subjects in their native language, but then had to interact with English speaking co-workers once they entered the work force?
Within some limitations, we should try to accomodate students with other cultural backgrounds and language. However, this country was built on new citizens learning our existing language and that should be the standard, not the rest of us learning theirs.
Hi Walter , Thanks for your post to the forum. As the need for skilled workers increases and our labor force becomes increasingly diverse, I think we do need to have instructors who can teach in different languages. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career,
