What is the best way to assess students learning styles?

Our school has learning styles assessments on the first day of class. The badges they get will have an assessment number showing their learning styles so I use that to help them in class.
I also like to use observation. I try to fill the class out and and see how receptive they are when I begin my new class.I try to observe to see how interested they are, when I begin. It might take a few classes to assess.

Wehavea learning styles assessment that we give our students on the first day of school. We work in teams in our lab classes we use the assessments to try and put someone from each learning style on a team so they can learn from each outher.
