hands on, tactile
I teach massage so almost all of my students learn better hands on. Some of them learn through note-taking and writing things down.
Hi Laura, Thanks for your post to the forum. Some ideas might be creating a plan to market a product, in the US or internationally. Using simulations with role play on HR issues can also be effective. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.

It's hard to teach hands on in some of the business courses. I tend to use computer-based projects to help with that. Any suggestions would be great.

Absolutely. As an instructor in the Physical Therapist Assistant program, I see student who can seem a little lost in the lecture portion, even with power points, but put them into lab where they palpate and move bodies, the concepts come into clear view. It's great to watch!
as a welding instructor, .hands on is the most important

I agree with Bruce, as we both work at the same school. I have noticed that if we do not give a verbal direction our hands on learns will jump in and skip several steps. I believe that every single student must have all types of material styles, in order to better their education.
As instructors we have to be aware of everyone's way of learning. We need to be able to offer different learning skils to accomodate each student.
Hi Bruce, Thanks for your post to the forum. Yes, to really understand their jobs, students must combine theory with application. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.

I teach automotive and without Auditory and Visual direction my Hands on learners wouldn't know where to start, so I have found I need to use many forms of teaching to reach students that think they only learn hands on. Some times they even read the directions.
I found that even the tactile learners exceptionally well when they are first exposed to auditory, written word and visual learning aids. I also found that they are the one ready to avoid the other styles and jump to the hands on. Further he are very useful in helping other students learn the hands on of a procedure.
