Not just one style.
I have administered VAK tests in early courses for students to give them a better understanding of their personal learning style. One of the caveats to this, however, which I also try to demonstrate is that no one student, or person, should be strictly picking one type V, A, or K for every question/situation. Our minds process all forms of learning stimulation, and so I believe a varied approach to teaching is ever more important.
Hi Diane, Thanks for your post to the forum. Our students will need to adapt to different styles so introducing them while they are studying is a good idea. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.

I completely agree that we may not all learn from simply one learning style. I am a visual person however sometimes I can listen to a lecture and learn more from it. Other times I need to attemp a hands on approach for the information to sink in.
Hi Judy, Thanks for your post to the forum. You are certainly running an "active learning" classroom!
Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.

Hi Jamie, Thanks for your post to the forum. I also think it is important to expose students to different learning styles as they will certainly find this in the workplace. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.

I try to keep the students from getting bored by changing up my strategies every 15-20 minutes. I may lecture, discuss, do presentations, or have the students present information or complete lab activities to keep them active and interested.
