blended approaches

I have found that blending different techniques to address various learning styles helps when dealing with large class sizes. It is always a challenge to deal with large class sizes because ability levels and learning styles can be vastly different.

However, many times instructors are faced with the decision to teach specific topics addressing one or two learning styles because of time constraints and the shear number of students.

I also add completion of the CMS form online, with a patient ledger form. Extracting information from an EOB/RA form for full understanding of the insurance process.

I find it challenging to find the time constraint a concern. At the end of the course I sometimes feel rushed. I am practicing using several styles and covering the material.

Case studies are a great way to apply abstract content. It is a way to bring real life situations to the classroom.

Hi Noel, Thanks for your post to the forum. I agree that varying delivery options in each class is the best strategy. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.

With a certain course that I am teaching I am finding it difficult to incorporate any hands on curriculum into it. We talk about insurance companies and reimbursement.
I find that my students learn more and hold onto the information if they can touch not just hear.
