Question?
Classes really do take on their own personality. It's amazing how one activity will work with one group of students and the next group just sits there. What I try to do in that situation, however, is to keep asking questions and, eventually, someone will start answering. It seems like a lot of the time it simply takes one student to get things rolling. Once the ice is broken, I find that other students will respond more
Yes, classes really do take on their own personality. It is also amazing how much the environment and classroom itself can affect discussion. One of my classes is in a large, spaced out room with computers at each desk, and the rapport has definitely suffered.
I fully agree. I really like the teamwork approach when working on activities and once the students get motivated and start a project, they usually find out they have a good time and learn new things.
