Utilizing the white board
During class room observations I have noticed a lack of white board usage, especially with question and answer. I now understand why I see this as an issue, I am a visual learner, white boards can be used as a visual tool as well as a support tool. Motivation towards participation for those students lacking, praising the student with a correct answer as well as confirming the correct answer, to "take notes". I also see the board as a tool for students to write their answers, discuss all answers, get involved.

I use the whiteboard everyday in class. I also give the students to use the whiteboard. It really helps the visual and hands on learners.
Hi Sharon - Thanks for your post to the forum. Great work using the whiteboard! Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
I love using the whiteboard and I am not even a visual learner. It is an excellent tool for helping the student see the importance of a particular concept or lesson taught that day. By writing the critical information on the whiteboard before class and then teaching it during class I have brought home the importance of it twice.
The white board is a great tool for those who use visual styles of learning. It puts it in their memory.
Sometimes as a review I'll write questions on the board and we'll discuss them at the end of the day. I've found that it gives the students a reinforcement of the key points from the lesson as well as helping me stay on track.
Hi Sarah - As a fellow visual learner, I totally agree that Whiteboards are valuable tools that should be used in every class! Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
