Questioning as a Teaching Technique
To keep our students involved, using questioning as a teaching technique has always been a great tool. Not only does it help educate, it aids in keeping the class on their toes. I believe as long as you provide positive reinforcement, even to incorrect answers, it aids in showing compassion and less stress on the class, improving on the class attitude and class participation.

I have been using questions to see the level of comprehension in my class, after watching the Harvard video, I have decided to plan a series of questions to help with review of covered material.

I have found by asking a question to a student that I feel is insecure will motivate. I ask a question I know they know and they shine.

I find it helps with terminology and attention. I ask questions continually during a discussion- not just on the discussion material but on how it relates to previously covered material too :)

I question my students to make them answer their own questions to me... Simply asking them the same question in different wording to help them answer their own questions. A lot of wrapped words but it really does work!
