Having an interaction with students is vital part of keeping them engaged? What if student keeps asking questions off the topic what would be your strategy to redirect them to the lecture material?

I advise them the question is slightly off topic, provide an answer, and ask them a question that is on topic as a way to steer the class back on track.
I agrre with George. I try to quickly answer their question and then redirect with a question concerning the class topic.
Kindly answer the question,and answer back with a question about the topic you are, discussing.
