Evaluation!
In japan there is no grades or evaluation till grade 4 do you think it is good idea or it helps to build confidence in students. Do you think this will work for adult learners?
I have students who do not test well on paper but know the subject matter through practical assessments.
How adult students who fold up under pressure. I deal with this all the time. They have worked really hard and then its an all or nothing test. They let the extra pressure get to them.
Hi Donald, I absolutely agree! The goal is to develop assessments that give us the information/feedback that we need. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.

I would think that some sort of evaluation of the student (whether child or adult learner)would be a necessity. There has to be some way to establish whether or not the sutdent is understanding the subject matter as well as being able to provide feedback to the student to establish where the shortcomings in his or her training are.
most adults are set in their own way of doing things more than children adults are looking to succeed at what they trying to learn and by grading or evaluating their their succees right from the start will make them more determined to succeed.
I think If we put less pressure on the evaluations and add in a couple soft questions in the begining of them it would assist in the easing of there minds and allow their minds to warm up to the quizes or tests
Hi Felix, I have never heard of that. I do not think it will work for adult learners because we are socialized to be competitive and
are goal oriented.
