Student Assessment

When testing a student one needs to keep in mind of the comprehension. How well will the student comprehend the questions that one may ask? Do not give a test that is above the student level. Always make sure that the student has a good feeling about themselves after a test is given. This is very important, because this gives reinsurance to the student so they may move forward with pride.

Absolutely, if the tests were not a challenge then the student would not be prepared the "real world" where are nothing but challenges for then to overcome.

I agree. The student does not benefit from the course if the testing is too far advanced.

"Always make sure that the student has a good feeling about themselves after a test is given. This is very important, because this gives reinsurance to the student so they may move forward with pride."

Rubbish! If the student has successfully passed the test and performed well, demostrated he has mastered the skills or retained the knowledge being assessed, then yes, that student should walk away feeling confident and proud of his accomplishments. But, writting a test with the GOAL of making every student walk away from your test feeling good about themselves means creating a test that is so easy that it does not fairly assess the students abilities. This does a dis-service to the industry and the students who excel in the program.
