Objectives

I prefer to use obejective tests in the beginning of each course and end with an essay test. I sell this to the students to help them realize that knowing the verbage in the first half of the course helps with student success in the last half of the course

This is a new way of thinking for me that I may adapt. I usually tell my students that I don't give "multiple guess" tests and use short answer tests but I see your point in building them up to the essay tests.
